Have you chosen the right makeup?

The reason is that each skin type requires different makeup techniques and formulas, you know.

"An easy guide to choosing the ideal makeup products and application techniques that suit your skin type," said Isha Yogi, Senior Lecturer, Personal Styling & Image Consultancy, PearlxStudio, as quoted from Indian Express.

Here, Gaya Spa has summarized how to choose makeup that suits your skin type.

1. Oily Skin

Using light, oil-free, and non-comedogenic products that don't clog pores can be an option for oily skin owners.

Don't forget to clean your face twice before applying make up.

Also, choose a matte foundation or foundation or a tinted moisturizer with a mattifying effect.

Pair foundation with loose powder or pressed powder to help your makeup stay intact.

2. Dry Skin

For dry skin, choose a foundation with a dewy finish.

Avoid foundations that are labeled matte or powdery, and stay away from powder-based products as they accentuate dryness.

3. Combination Skin

If you have combination skin with oily T-zone and dry cheeks, choose oil-free and light products for the T-zone and moisturizing products for the cheeks.

Next, choose a matte foundation for the T-zone and a hydrating foundation for the cheeks.

Apply a water-based moisturizer prior to makeup application followed by a mattifying primer to be safe.

4. Sensitive Skin

If you have sensitive skin, choose mineral-based makeup as these formulations usually do not contain harsh or irritating chemicals such as dyes and additives.

Use a natural cleansing balm to remove your makeup to avoid skin irritation.

5. Acne Skin

Use non-comedogenic products that won't clog your pores and avoid aggravating your acne.

For a light foundation, make sure it has an active acne-fighting ingredient like salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide.

Avoid heavy oil-based products that can clog pores.

Hopefully it's useful.
