Spa Wellness Style Provides Prenatal and Postnatal Treatment, Here's What Mami Should Prepare

Good news for you, Gaya Spa Wellness provides a variety of special prenatal and postnatal treatments for mommy.

For information, prenatal massage is done during the hamula period.

The goal is to improve blood circulation, eliminate muscle aches and pain, and make pregnant women become more relaxed.

This massage is one of the things that are recommended for mothers as one of the preparations for labor.

Launching from Halodoc, here are the preparations that you must prepare before doing prenatal massage, let's see.

1. Conducted by Professionals

Professionals really understand which parts of the body can or cannot be massaged.

The reason is, there are several parts of the body of pregnant women that should not be massaged, such as the lower abdomen, the point between the thumb and forefinger of the hand, the big toe, heel, the area around the toes, and ankles.

2. Choose the Right Time

The best time for pregnant women to do prenatal massage is when the fetus is 12 weeks old and a maximum of 31 weeks.

When aged over 12 weeks, the position of the fetus is stable so it is safe to do light massages, especially those that aim to smooth blood flow to the fetus.

3. Choose the Right and Comfortable Position

Mother needs to choose the right position so as not to harm pregnancy. There are two recommended positions, namely:

If doing prenatal massage at the gestational age of more than 4 months, then it should be done in a lying position on your back.

However, a sideways lying position to the left is also recommended.

The reason is, so that the large uterus will not press the veins back from the legs (inferior vena cava), so as to prevent obstruction of blood flow from the lower part of the body.

4. Know the Safe Point of Massage

As in the previous explanation, massage should not be done in the lower abdomen area, the point between the thumb and forefinger of the hand, big toe, heel, area around the toes, and ankles.

The reason is, massage done in some of these areas can trigger contractions.

Also tell the therapist if the massage is too tight and uncomfortable.
